Alternative Technology Signs Distribution Agreement With Leading Smart Card Manufacturer, Gemplus.
Identity Management Solutions address compliance needs of vertical markets
Englewood, Co., November 8th, 2005 - Alternative Technology, a specialty distributor based in Englewood, Colo., today announced that it has signed a distribution agreement with Gemplus Corp., the world’s leading provider of smart card solutions. Alternative Technology will distribute Gemplus’s “SafesITe” product line to its network of resellers in the USA and Canada.
Alternative Technology and Gemplus will focus on North American enterprises requiring identity management (strong authentication) solutions to meet regulatory compliance. These companies are concentrated in the Health Care, Financial and Insurance markets. As Federal Homeland Security mandates filter down to the State and Local Government level, a second priority will develop as the growing demand for secure identification spreads across North America.
