Alternative Technology is named Blue Coat Authorized Training Center
Strong Working Relationship Garners Alternative Technology Blue Coat Training Responsibility
Englewood, CO., December 5, 2006 – Alternative Technology, the leading specialty distributor of security, access infrastructure, and network management solutions, today announced that it will become a Blue Coat - Authorized Training Center, with classes beginning throughout select United States and Canadian cities as early as January 29, 2007.
Under the agreement, Alternative Technology will provide Blue Coat certification training to its network of 3,000 resellers in the USA and Canada, and classes that can be resold to end users.
Initial course offerings include:
- Blue Coat Certified Proxy Administrator, a 2 day course for students who wish to master the fundamentals of Blue Coat products and Blue Coat's most recent operating system, with topics including: Blue Coat SG deployment strategies, Visual Policy Manager, authentication, URL filtering, managing downloads, instant messaging, and peer-to-peer applications. Upon completing this course and passing an online exam, students will become Blue Coat Certified Proxy Administrators.
- Blue Coat Certified Proxy Professional, a 3 day course for experienced Blue Coat Administrators who wish to master the advanced features of Blue Coat products, including: system architecture, policy tracing, advanced HTTP topics, the SOCKS protocol and compression, Endpoint Mapper, bandwidth management, the SSL protocol, and advanced access logging. Upon completing the course and passing an online exam, students will become Blue Coat Certified Proxy Professionals.
Blue Coat training will be conducted at Alternative Technology locations in Denver, Fort Lauderdale, and Mississauga, Ontario, or arrangements can be made for onsite training.
