This hands-on training course, aimed at experienced VMware Infrastructure 3 administrators, covers installation, configuration, and management of a VMware Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI) using VMware Virtual Desktop Manager (VDM).
The course focuses on the delivery of virtual Windows desktops using the VDM connection server.
Course Objectives
At the end of the course, you should be able to do the following:
- Create an Active Directory infrastructure for virtual desktops
- Apply Group Policy Objects and roaming profiles in a VMware virtual desktop infrastructure
- Create and manage Windows XP and Vista virtual desktops using VMware VDM 2.0.
- Administer a variety of client devices: PCs and thin clients
Target Audience
Systems administrators and systems integrators experienced with VMware Infrastructure 3 who are responsible for their organization’s deployment of VMware virtual desktop technology.
Prerequisites
Required
- Achievement of a passing score on a short online pre-test
- Comfort with fundamental Windows administration tasks such as adding users and computers to Active Directory domains
Recommended
- Completion of VMware Infrastructure 3: Install and Configure or equivalent experience with VMware Infrastructure 3
- Basic experience in Microsoft Windows administration
