ScriptLogic’s File System Auditor Reports on User File Access and Alerts When a Suspicious Server Event Occurs
Unique New Product Complements ScriptLogic’s File Security Management Solutions and Aids Regulatory Compliance by Detailing Who Accesses Server Files and When
Boca Raton, FL – February 6, 2006 – ScriptLogic® Corporation (www.scriptlogic.com), a leader in network administration software for Microsoft® Windows®-based networks, today announced the launch of File System AuditorTM, a radical new solution that audits, reports and alerts on Windows file server activity, showing who touched which files and folders, when and on what server. IT administrators can configure the product to generate customized reports or deliver alerts based on Windows Server 2000 and 2003 file activity, improving overall IT security and assisting with regulatory compliance.
Until now, IT administrators did not have a comprehensive, automated method for tracking and reporting on all server file system events, such as when an end user reads, deletes or creates a file on the server. Native auditing simply fills event logs with unintelligible information and requires pre-server review and continual maintenance. By contrast, File System Auditor tracks all activity automatically, and alerts administrators when a specific event or file system message occurs. Its granular configuration and reporting options can report on general file activity or highly specific and categorized file server activity.
