Lakeside Software's SysLock is designed to allow administrators the ability to limit programs which may be executed on a computer system. In limiting which programs a user may execute, this greatly reduces the threat posed by certain types of applications which may become resource intensive, or distract from a user's day-to-day mode of operation. This product effectively adds another layer of defense to previously implemented security policies such as group policies and virus software.
Lakeside Software's SysLock is also designed to allow administrators the ability to limit websites viewed on a system. Remember, due to the local agent, the security set forth for either application or web restriction, will be maintained even if the user is not on the network. With SysLock for web locking, you can create an inclusive list of sites, which can be visited. Or you can create a list of sites that may not be visited. In either case you can have the user redirected to another webpage away from the unauthorized site they were trying to access. Invoking these additional security measures with SysLock can reduce the amount of time spent by administrators supporting unapproved application or website use, eliminate the threat of mal-ware and help to increase end user efficiency.
